But arguable, she was much better last year(1.40 ERA) than this year (3.23 ERA).

This season, she has gotten rocked several times, including giving up 14 earned runs to FSU in 11 innings and to UNCC when she gave up 6 ERs in 3 innings. That UNCC game was on 5/1, but she followed it up with a 5 inning shutout of BC this past weekend.

This is from my preview: "However, it is Senior Alexis Holloway (2.51 ERA, 104 Ks in 114 innings), who has dominated the Hokies since her first start against them in 2018. Holloway, an Aerospace Engineering major, has regularly grounded the VT hitters, giving up only 4 earned runs in the 31.2 innings that she has pitched against VT while striking out 22."

It is simply hard to explain. Hopefully the Hokies have figured it out.
